Minority Interchange Overview

Minority Interchange, Inc. (MI) is a not-for-profit corporation organized in 1975 that provides a forum for the development and nurturing of leadership ability and the promotion of career-enhancing skills and techniques.

Our goal is accomplished through education, employment, and networking opportunities. MI addresses members' needs and helps provide strategies to compete and advance in the corporate world.

The idea for MI was born out of a 1974 reception for a newly promoted executive, where 40 African-Americans in the insurance industry discovered each other's existence.

MI is run entirely by volunteers, and membership is open to everyone. MI's tone is upbeat, motivational, and inspirational.

Minority Interchange, Inc. seeks to provide a safe haven for our members to participate in the development and nurturing of professional and leadership skills.

OUR OBJECTIVES

• To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences among all levels of employees and for developing strategies to accelerate career growth.
• To assist members in developing new skills while refining existing ones.
• To promote confidence and high standards of achievement among members.
• To encourage participation in career advancement and other forms of higher education programs.
• To encourage members to participate in company and industry-sponsored activities and in community service organizations.
